LIT COMMENTARY & UPDATES
OCT 23, NOV 14, DEC 3, 2024
We’ll be Watchin’ November’s Harris County Lawsuits to Stop the Foreclosure Auction and see the Bond Amounts Assessed. Dec. 3 Update: The new system has been put into play, with cash bonds varied in November/Dec filings to stop foreclosure. The conveyor belt $100 cash bond has stopped, for now. Alas, the protection of legal bandits and judicial malfeasance is still very evident, from our live analysis of the Dec. foreclosure cases we discuss on X (social media).
Harris County District Court refused to accept LIT’s constant reminder that the monthly foreclosure auction was treated as a $100 TRO conveyor belt for regular foreclosure defense attorneys, whether the amount of debt was $30,000 or $30,000,000.
The previous process was quick and straightforward, which not only relieved the ancillary judge from in-depth case analysis but also enabled attorneys to repeatedly bring the same cases to court. This led to homeowners being drained of their funds, often leaving them vulnerable to “foreclosure rescue” scams or $10 title deed fraud schemes.
It seems that changes have now been implemented, with TRO cash bonds being assessed individually by the appointed ancillary judge.
Below, LIT analyzes the lawsuits filed in October to halt foreclosures in Harris County, detailing the cash bond amounts set for each temporary restraining order in those cases.
Six Weeks Later

From $100 cash bond in 2023 before Judge Engelhart to $7,500 a year later before Judge Sandill, that’s quite the hike.
