WHO IS KARLTON S. HARRIS?

We’ve discovered Karlton’s been in jail, has six children, a ministry, a nonprofit, a whole load of IFP applications and corresponding property, taxes or child-support related debt. We haven’t spent a lot of time on his self-confessed criminal history to find out the reason he went to jail – we’ve only located this Illinois appeal. We don’t know how he supports himself, let alone a family of six and yet is able to obtain a $400k mortgage for a $700k home when there’s no earned income disclosed anywhere, just food stamps and government aid.
Karlton Harris is a Community Partner with The Forgotten Third as part of the project “Incorporation of a Health Approach to Hospital Violence Intervention Programs:
The Integration of a Community and Hospital Based Initiatives to Reduce Gun Violence in a Large Metropolitan Area” at University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and is a member of the Steering Committee for the Community Firearm Violence Prevention Network.
Karlton Harris is the Executive Director of The Forgotten Third. He is a community leader and speaker with more than 20 years of experience in designing and implementing supports to improve the lives of underserved youth and communities.
Karlton served Houstonians as the Youth Violence Prevention City Lead for six consecutive years.
As the lead, Karlton was responsible for the creation of The Houston Peace Youth Violence Strategic Plan and Houston Peace Youth Violence Prevention Coalition which focused on gun violence prevention, social determinants of health and increased protective factors surrounding credible messenger mentoring and community violence interruption.
