Attorney Aaron Aquino Disbarred But Not Jailed for $700,000 Theft

Rogue Lawyers should go to jail for theft of client property and funds, just like every other law-breaking citizen of the United States.

In Re: Discipline Of Aaron A. Aquino, 83339 (Nev. 2022)

Nevada Supreme Court

REPUBLISHED BY LIT: FEB 1, 2022

The only dispute was whether Aquino be suspended or disbarred, not whether he should be reported for criminal theft. Ultimately, he has been disbarred but that is not enough. Lawyers should go to jail for theft of client property and funds, just like every other law-breaking citizen of the United States.

Southern Nevada Disciplinary Board hearing panel recommended that attorney Aaron A. Aquino be suspended from the practice of law for three years.

The State Bar has filed a brief opposing the panel’s recommendation and instead seeking disbarment.

Aquino did not file a brief.
