Waddell Serafino Geary Rechner Jenevein, PC, with offices in downtown Dallas, seeking a Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys who represent numerous banking and financial institutions.

This position focuses on consumer/commercial litigation with an emphasis on creditor’s rights.

The job responsibilities include work on high-volume civil litigation matters including calendar and docket management, drafting pleadings, data entry, and preparing for hearings and trials.

This position is open in our Dallas, TX office.

Annual compensation is between $40,000 and $55,000 depending upon experience.

Where permissible under applicable state and local law, applicant will be subject to a pre-employment background check after receiving a conditional offer of employment.

Responsibilities

Managing full dockets for 3 or more attorneys, including scheduling, maintaining an accurate calendar, travel, and preparation for hearings and trials.
Communicate with court staff, clients, pro se defendants, opposing counsels, and process servers at all phases of litigation.
Assist attorneys with case management, drafting pleadings and data entry.
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Possess outstanding organizational and time management skills as well as strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong knowledge of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure.
Experience with state electronic filing and drafting of pleadings, trial preparation and support, file management, and discovery.
Possess strong project management skills, including the ability to handle multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment.
Thorough attention to details and ability to follow up effectively on outstanding items.
Ability to produce high quality, error-free work product in a fast-paced, deadline sensitive environment.
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, and litigation document software.
A college degree in Paralegal Studies or an equivalent field is preferred. At least two years’ experience in litigation matters is strongly preferred.

Physical Demands and Working Environment
Work is performed in an office environment and involves everyday risks or discomforts, requiring normal safety precautions when performing work. Work requires frequent walking, standing, bending, and carrying items up to 25 pounds. Regular, predictable, and punctual attendance is required for performance of duties.
Work requires physical presence in the office; this is not a remote position.
Work hours are generally Monday through Friday, with occasional non-standard business hours during evenings and/or weekends, as workload may require.
