Burnet County Judge suspended without pay, facing several charges

BURNET COUNTY, Texas — Burnet County Judge James Oakley has been suspended without pay from the judicial office of county judge.
According to the suspension order released by the State Commission on Judicial Conduct, the judge is charged with two counts of abuse of official capacity, one count of tampering or fabricating physical evidence with intent to impair and one count of official oppression.
Oakley’s suspension will remain in effect until the charges are dismissed or he is acquitted of all charges.
