A Dishonorable Judge’s Wife Enters Harris County Court, Seeking Property and Millions in Monetary Relief

This is what’s wrong with Texas and the Judiciary. It’s run by lawyers who promote spouse(s) for judges on the bench with money from lawyers.

LIT UPDATE & COMMENTARY

Jan 16, 2025

The lease to own rental price of $30k per month with a purchase price around $3.9M in 2023 (HCAD Tax value $3.25M), when Zillow managed to revalue the sprawling home at half it’s market value of $6.2M. Today, the value per Zillow is now “unknown” – since they are now part of ONITY – as such we have to look to HAR, which values the home at $7.2M. Additionally, even HCAD valued the home at $5.8M in 2023.

ENGELHART, EVA S (IN HER CAPACITY AS CHAPTER 7 TRU vs. VAN DYKE, SCOTT VINCENT

 (Court 164, C. ELLIOTT THORNTON)

OCT 20, 2022 | REPUBLISHED BY LIT: OCT 21, 2022
DEC 23,  2022 JAN 19, FEB 11, FEB 26, MAR 21, APR 21, AUG 6, 2023

Non suit finally entered on Jul. 10, 2023. LIT’s on point, once again.

Do You Think Judge Hubby and Trustee Spouse Discussed the 18-year Ole Litigation and Lawsuit, suggesting $20M+ in Fraudulent Transfers – Since they Share the Same Bed – or Would this Be a Big Secret in the Household to Preserve Legal Ethics, even though The Case is Assigned to Another Hand-Picked Judge who’s known to Violate the Rule of Law?

Value of the home incredibly drops from $6.4 million to $3.2 million, a 50 percent drop…

DEC 23,  2022 JAN 19, FEB 11, FEB 26, MAR 21, APR 21, JUN 20, 2023

No movement, no notice of dismissal for want of prosecution either. Oh, that’s right, the Judge can just holla’ down the hall to Judge Engelhart and remind him his wife’s not pursuin’ the case actively and that’s a problem.

NOV 30,  2022

Well it looks like Van Dyke is followin’ LIT’s article. He’s dropped the sale of his residence as the case has died after filing of the petition.

OCT 29, NOV 10

Are y’all waitin’ for the election first in case LIT offers up any more bad press to Judge Mike Engelhart’s Appellate Court Campaign? No movement on the TRO or anything since filed on Oct 20, 2022…

On the Move, Judge?

Published on Aug. 6, 2023

Real Property Records for their former home, now an investment property at 4402 Holt.

The Engelhart’s new home is obviously listed in name of corporation or similar, since they are aware LIT is interested in real estate owned by the Judiciary as matters of public concern.

Massively Overwhelming 2020 Kickoff Fundraiser – Line Out the Door – Valets Complaining – for Judge Engelhart!

Published on 5/22/19

The Harris County area legal community came back – and in greater numbers, for Judge Engelhart for his 2020 Re-Election Campaign. It was a veritable “who’s who” of Houston’s litigation community, and many others. As the photos show, there was a long line out the door of the reception room, almost to the front door of La Griglia. The valets were complaining they had nowhere to park the cars!

Judge Engelhart gave a compelling speech about his efficiency and fairness as a Judge. He described his plan for winning the 2020 Democratic Primary and the General Election in November 2020. Everyone who came out to support Judge Engelhart had a good time, with great food and energized friends uniting for a good cause.

The fundraiser was a terrific success for Judge Engelhart’s campaign, as the campaign will have the resources it needs to run a daunting campaign. And, as importantly, it showed the great respect the legal community has for Judge Engelhart’s work on the bench.

An additional highlight was a surprise celebration of Judge Engelhart’s wife, Eva’s birthday! The whole crowd sang happy birthday.

More than one guest remarked they had never seen such a crowd at a district judge’s fundraiser. Attorney Randy Canche said, after the event,

“I can’t stress enough what a fantastic, smart, and fair Judge Mike Engelhart has been. I urge Harris County voters to re-elect him again this year.”

Judge Engelhart agreed, saying in his speech last night:

“I intend to win this race!”
