Ryerson et al v. U.S. Bank National Association et al
AUG 27, 2018 | REPUBLISHED BY LIT: JUN 12, 2022
475 Winning Colors, Austin, TX 78737
Carlos Ryerson has been known to ‘negotiate’ and LIT has verified that this lawyer’s past is very colorful and most likely will be subject of another, separate article.
Returning to the foreclosure dispute at hand, what we assume has happened in this foreclosure case is that Ryerson has negotiated a ‘without prejudice’ settlement as he was aware that his home life was in disrepair and Debra Ryerson wanted a divorce. We suggest she was tired of the many financial woes this couple faced – over decades – and most likely the fact the emotional distress, as she was resigned to losing her dream home.
With the hot Austin housing market, the Ryersons’ could cash out on their luxury homestead, rather than lose it to a foreclosure sale for cents on the dollar. And the record reflects that is what happened, with a $750k home ballooning to $1.5m and today it is worth even more, per Zillow it’s in excess of $2.1m.
In summary, the Ryersons’ divorced and cashed out as a result of this ‘without prejudice’ agreed dismissal, a lovely gesture from the foreclosure mills.
